My Top Winter Lipsticks | Beauty

If you've been reading my blog for a while or know me in real life you'll know I am obsessed with dark lipsticks especially purple ones and I have so many lipsticks I decided it was time for another insight into my draw of lipsticks and what colours I love to wear during the winter months. Although this post does say lipsticks there is one lip stain to go with them because I love it so much and it's such a lovely red. I would love to know what you think of my choices and if you would wear any of these colours?

GOSH matte lipstick in shade Plum:
I adore this shade firstly because it's a deep purple and secondly because it has an amazing price tag, I love all GOSH lipsticks as they are an amazing price for the quality and they last ages once applied which I can find not always the case with drugstore lipsticks. Although I haven't always been a fan of matte lipsticks I am starting to grow into them and I am always reaching for this shade when I go out in the day. It's an easy to shade to pull of as opposed to some of the shades in this list and it's a great purple lipstick to start with if you are unsure about purples. The smell of the lipstick smells similar to the MAC ones so another bonus right?

GOSH lipstick in Plum

MAC Herione:
This is hands down my favourite lipstick ever and I wear it throughout the year, but it's a perfect shade for winter a bit brighter than the previous lipstick by GOSH but still a lovely purple all the same, another matte lipstick and the one that made me fall in love with matte lipsticks. I find winter lipsticks always tend to be matte for some reason which I am starting to love. I don't find this lipstick drying at all which is good as some MAC matte lipsticks can be. I have to say this lipstick lasts all day and looks as good at the end of the day as at the start and I find myself hardly using any of it when I apply it so it's well worth the money.

MAC herione lipstick

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Hot pepper:
Although this lipstick is completely different from my other picks in the fact that it is bright red, it is another Matte choice, the difference between this product and the others is it is a lip stain. You apply the lip stain like lip gloss and after a few seconds it dries to your lips just like a lipstick and has a massively long staying power, I do often like to apply gloss on the top of this as it gives you an extra luxurious feel but without is just as great. This is a bright red so maybe not for those who are scared to pull of a bright lip colour, but perfect for those who fancy a challenge.

Wet N Wild Coffee Buzz:
Now although you can't buy this one in the UK I thought I would add it to the list as it's such a gorgeous favourite of mine and it actually looks black in the picture but it's actually a dark Maroon on the verge of being brown which is a little different from the others but still awesome all the same. Another matte lipstick, and not as long lasting as the others but still really pretty and looks amazing if you like dark lippies.

Wet N Wild Coffee Buzz

For some reason the picture of the Milani lipstick went missing but I thought I would still give it a mention in this post, the shade which is picture in the top photo is sangria and is a similar shade to Herione, but doesn't smell quite as nice and has a less longer staying power but at the same time it's still amazing for those winter days and a fixture in my handbag.

Why you NEED to watch Making A Murderer | Lifestyle

The series that is on everyone's lips, Making A Murderer. The series came out on December 18th and nearly everyone has watched it and I can't say I blame them, I am one of those people who have watched it. I am trying not to include too many spoilers in this post only things which are well known and splattered all over the web, Usually this would be a pat on the back for the producers for creating such a well watched series, which people are obsessed with watching in record time, with millions of views. But this is actually someones life and it's real so the reason it's SO popular is because people want to know the truth about what happened to Steve Avery after being wrongly framed and spending 18 years in jail for a crime he didn't commit, and being convinced he was framed (which in my opinion he totally was) after getting off one crime less than two years later ending up in jail for a second one which again seems like a total framing which is disgusting and horrible case of injustice. Since the series kicked off, there has been over 400,000 signatures on a petition to free Steve Avery and his nephew Brandon Dassey which I totally think should happen.

So the reasons why you need to watch Making A Murder:
  • If you love crime documentaries or series' this will be one for you and it's ten episodes of constant attention grabbing footage.
  • You get hooked and keep watching (with most people watching all ten episodes in 2 days!)
  • Shows how corrupt the police can be, which gets your mind thinking.
  • Again you spend the whole time without breaking the focus
  • To loose your voice- you spend SO much time screaming at the TV in anger, you pretty much are guaranteed to loose your voice.
  • Although you may cry at some point *like I did* it's worth it, as it gives you all of the feels.
  • STEVE AVERY IS SO ADORABLE and it breaks my heart what he has been through.
So there are just a few reasons why you need to watch Making A Murderer, and if that isn't enough to convince you, go google his case and you'll be totally hooked.

The Jeans Weekender | Fashion

I've wanted to post this post forever but I kept getting busy with university, and being ill and then Christmas so it's taken me so long to finally get around it finishing it, so I apologize for this! The post is in collaboration with Asda and their Jeans section at George. The idea behind the post is create outfits for an entire weekend based around the same pair of jeans, my idea would be to create a look for Saturday Day, Saturday Evening and Sunday and even though they involve the same pair of jeans the outfits are completely different. Everything featured on this post is available to buy at Asda now or it was in the past. I would love to know your favourite look and if you like to style jeans up also?

For Saturday if I go out I like to keep it casual with a pair of jeans and a tee, my wardrobe is always overflowing with tees so I try to go through them on the weekends. When I go shopping I like to take a big bag to put stuff in that I buy so I thought this oversized black bag would do the job perfectly. Finally the outfit is finished with a simple pair of pumps which are perfect for keeping your feet comfy whilst having a long day out, I used to wear boots or heels but walking around for hours on end, hurt my feet way too much.

This outfit is for Saturday evening, I love it because it's still pretty casual but can be dressed up with certain items. I am a huge fan of long checked shirts and they make me feel comfortable and I thought this shirt was a perfect pairing for the jeans so I decided to put them together. You can make the outfit a bit more glam with over the knee boots as they make any outfit look more dressed up and finally a smaller over the body bag to keep your purse and phone in.

As Sunday is a day for chill, if you are forced to go out for anything, effort is kept to a minimum with an oversized black tee, and warm cosy hoodie and a pair of fluffy socks. Easy to put on and perfect to chill in whilst watching Netflix in the afternoon. If you are planning on eating a lot I would recommend switching out the jeans to tracksuit bottoms!

Stamp out loneliness | Lets talk

It's 2016 and there are still so many people who are spending their days alone, and it is the older generation who are suffering the worst which is nothing new. It is awful to hear about the amount of old people who spend everyday alone after loosing a loved one or having a lack of family living close and it makes me sad to think about. That is why Sunrise Senior Living is trying to stamp out loneliness, did you know over a million older people go a month without speaking to anyone which is a disgusting and sad statistic in itself. It's so easy to make a change to someones life, simply by the picking up the phone and saying hello, visiting and elderly neighbour and stopping by for a chat or even volunteering at an event. I know not everyone has a lot of time on their hands but donations are also an amazing way to help. A while back I got asked to take part in a challenge from Campaign To End Lonliness where I hosted a dinner party for an older person in my life or that I knew, but sadly being a student I don't really live near any including my family so I suggested a spin on the challenge. Which was I host a dinner party for my student friends, hear me out here. Students are forever lonely too, being away from home and sometimes not having their friends around it can be a super lonely time so I thought it would be an amazing idea to get us together and host a little bit of a dinner party. Unfortunately life got in the way and it has taken me like 3 months to manage to host this dinner party as my friends have been busy and so have I with deadlines but I finally managed to get the party hosted *cheers*

For the dinner party I decided to create a risotto with a cheese and tomato tart, the reason I went for a risotto as it's a dish a lot of people like and it's easier to whip in bulk and with me and some of my friends being vegetarians it seemed like the easiest option to do. I let all of my friends know the reason for me hosting the meal and also explained a bit more about how you can really change the life of someone from one simple thing and like myself they were shocked by the stats I presented to them about how much time the older generation spend alone, striking a want to help amongst them so it felt like a dinner party with a difference in my eyes. I couldn't end the post without sharing a picture of my super yummy risotto and cheese and tomato tart could I?

P.S. Remember how easily you can change a life with just a smile and a chat!

Brand Focus: Soap and Glory | Beauty

It's been a long time coming but I have finally gotten round to featuring Soap And Glory on my blog and to be honest I have no idea why I haven't featured them sooner because every product I have tried by them has been AMAZING. So today I decided I would share a bit of info on the brand themselves and also talk about some of their best products (hard choice, I know) and I hope you enjoy learning about this fabulous brand I hope they make their way into your makeup bag sometime soon.

Soap and Glory is available from Boots and they are budget friendly especially for the quality of the products, ranging from £3.50 to £12.00. They are a well known brand and many other bloggers rave about their Soap and Glory Archery Brows and also Kick Ass powder and concealer which I totally agree with as they're all amazing. I find their products long lasting, and work really well with most people. I love the Kick Ass concealer as I find it super high quality and always reach for it over a high end alternative. Their lipsticks are beyond amazing and SO long lasting, I own so many of these and I am always drawn in by the packaging of the lipstick which is black and can be metallic dependant on whether the shade is matte or not. Their lipsticks come in a range of amazing colours and always smell divine. All their products always look amazing and to me represent a good quality product for what they stand for and the women they feature on their packaging always look classic.

Soap and Glory also feature a large amount of skin products including their signature body butter the righteous butter which is outta this world! Along with other things such as Serums and bath products which makes them a super diverse company and I am always drawn to their bright pink and gold packaging as it catches my eye. If you are yet to try Soap and Glory or hadn't heard of them until this post I'd totally recommend trying their Make-up products first, possibly start with one of their lipsticks or mascara as they are totally insane and will have you hooked and wanting to buy all of your makeup from them. At times I do think the brand isn't given as much credit as it deserves but it's totally worth your money and your time, trust me!

Why I give up with New Years Resolutions | Lifestyle

It's that time again when New Years resolutions come into play, and although some people do somehow manage to keep their resolutions most people set unrealistic goals that end up failing a few days into January. Some manage to keep their resolutions going a bit longer even into February which is impressive by all means.

I like the idea of change but I know a lot of expectations come with a resolution and how disappointed you get when you fail at it. Last year I set two resolutions the first being to eat healthy and start fitness which is what most people go for, and I actually managed it for four months before slowly falling back into my old eating habits which I have to admit I was a little bit gutted about. Secondly to be a vegetarian again and I am actually still sticking to that which is one I find very easy as I led a pretty vegetarian diet anyways.

So this year, I don't plan on making any resolutions as it's just extra pressure on myself that I don't need, instead I am going to set myself some reasonable targets I want to reach at some point, it may not happen this year it may take years but the list is there for me to work my way through, and this makes me happy. I was considering sharing the goals with you lot, but I think it would feel better for me if I kept them to myself. I will let you in one of them though, and that one is to find out what career path I want to take as I finish uni in May and still have no idea where to go from there *argh* so hopefully I can set my mind to finding out where I want to go career wise. OH and of course I'll be attempting to work out at some point this year, but not in January as it's my birthday and that means going out for meals and eating cake so...

Happy new year folks!
