Latest In Beauty Subscription Box Review.

Latest In Beauty Subscription Box Review.

Latest In Beauty is one of the subscription boxes I have loved since the early days of my blog. Back then I would invest in their one-off boxes, as the content of the boxes were always a lot more than what you paid and it was a great way to try out products which I wouldn't usually buy. Compared to boxes such as Glossybox, the Latest in Beauty box was always more exciting, plus you knew what was inside, although it wasn't a surprise. I'd rather know what I am getting in a box. Latest In Beauty, now offer subscription boxes where you pick the products yourself, they offer 3 types of boxes, 3, 6 and 9 products. Which is fabulous as it suits pretty much every price range.

Recently I was offered the chance to pick out 9 products in my very own box, which retails at £18.00 per month. For 3 products it's £9.00 and for 6 it's £15.00. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of brands on site, as well as the fact that a lot of the items were full sized as opposed to simple sized products. The box took around 5 days to arrive, but it was a surprise all over again when it came as I could only remember 3 products I had chosen, whoops! The box was wrapped up so nicely and I couldn't wait to get testing out my goodies. I hope you enjoy reading about my picks and what I thought of them!

Mini Miss Piggy's Big Number from OPI:
I am a huge fan of OPI and own a fair few of their nail varnishes, the quality is fab and the lasting power is pretty strong. I went for this shade due to the cool blue mermaid vibes it was giving off and it was calling my name. I like the mini polishes as they're lightweight and perfect for carrying in your handbag or when travelling. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

Soigne Betteraves Rouges Polish:
It's been several years since I've tried any nail varnish from Soigne, in fact, the last time was back in 2015! When I saw this beautiful red colour, I knew I had to go for it. I am massively into painting my nails at the moment and red is such a statement colour. The formula is easy to apply and covers really well in a matter of one coat and dries so quickly. I found it to not be as long-lasting as my OPI polish, although it is still such a pretty colour so I would totally repurchase this. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆

Sally Hansen Shimmer Me Timbers:
I decided to go for this polish as I have never actually tried Sally Hansen and I loved the idea of miracle gel, this polish and gel can last up to 14 days, without a lamp. Sounds like a win right? I am not a huge fan of the colour as it's not really very me, but I did find the gel polish to be fab. It dries super quick and is easy to remove with normal remover, I am not about that acetone life. I found it made my nails feel so much stronger too, win! Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆

MUA Twelfth Night Palette:
I've always had a love-hate relationship with MUA, I find some of their products to be amazing and some to be pretty awful, but for budget beauty, you can't win everytime right? I decided to go for this palette as it's been a while since I've gotten anything from them. I was surprised at how pigmented the shades were in this palette and the shades are fab for creating a smoky eye. The palette itself is super lightweight, which again is great for carrying around in your bag. My favourite shades of the palette are Oudh and Plum as these stood out to me and look lush on. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆

Murad Exfoliating Cleanser:
I have such acne prone skin and use Murad in my skin routine every day as it seems to keep my spots at bay. When I saw there was a Murad cleanser on the Latest in Beauty site, I knew I needed to pick it. I had recently run out of my acne cleanser from Murad I was using, so I was more than happy to have an alternative to use. The cleanser is fabulous as it feels like you've cleaned your skin really well and it has some exfoliating properties in, which always leaves my skin feeling so much smoother. I would recommend any Murad products to anyone, as they seem to have a product to fix most skin problems. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

Flower Power Refreshing Face Mist:

The packaging of this product was what first caught my eye, I wasn't sure whether it was a deodorant or a hair product, it turned out to be neither, it is, in fact, a refreshing face mist. I love the concept of the product too. The mist is great for when you're feeling a little hot, after the gym, or even after running for the bus. We all get sweaty at some point, it's like a little pick me up to leave you feeling fresh once again. Plus it smells amazing! Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆

Nugg Face Mask:
I've been interested in trying these for the longest time but the price has put me off a little. So being able to try one in this box, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. First thing I noticed was how compact the product was, these are single-use pods which creates less mess and keeps them fresher for longer. It only takes around 10 minutes for the mask to be ready to come off, so fab for a pamper in a rush. The product itself left my skin feeling softer and a lot less oily, and I noticed my acne seemed less red after just one application. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

Soft and Gentle 0% Aluminium:
I love the fact that the Latest In Beauty box includes other products than just makeup. I have not heard of this brand for deodorant, however, it turns out they're pretty popular. It was easy to apply and smells pretty good too. It keeps the odours at bay, it felt like it took a long time to dry and left my underarms feeling sticky. Not a huge fan of this product sadly. Rating: ⋆⋆

Nude by nature foundation:
Stupidly I picked up the wrong shade of foundation so it would be unfair to rate this one as I actually cannot give my honest opinion on it, I will say that the packaging of the product is pretty and it's super lightweight, perfect for on the go.

Overall, I think the Latest In Beauty, Beauty Guru box was a fabulous success, I would probably not purchase them every month, due to the cost being a little high for my budget, but I would love to buy this as a treat for myself, especially when there a lot of products that spike my interest.

Have you ever tried any of the Latest In Beauty boxes?

American beauty haul from Ulta: Part 1.

American beauty haul from Ulta: Part 1.

This post was supposed to go up as a what I got for Christmas post, but honestly, I ran out of time around Christmas and suddenly it was mid-January. So instead I thought I'd turn this post into an Ulta beauty haul, for those of you who are unaware of what Ulta is, it's similar to Boots for those of us in the UK. Except it is filled with brands which we can only dream of having in the UK. Good news though, as there are now a huge variety of services which allow you to ship goodies in from the US. I wrote a post about how you can too order goodies from the US. Hopefully, you enjoy this haul and let me know if you would like to see reviews of the products feature.

Sigma creme palette
Too Faced Clover Palette

Sigma Creme De Couture palette:
This palette isn't actually from Ulta, but in fact from Beauty Bay but this started out a Christmas styled post, therefore I'd already taken the photos. Sigma is based in the US, however, we now have sites in the UK like the Beauty Bay where these can be purchased from. This palette is currently £29.50 and is filled with so many bright and easy to work with shades. The shades aren't as pigmented as I first thought they were going be, however they are buildable and are really easy to blend. My favourite shades are Redberry Rose and Blueberry cream as these stood out to me as soon as I opened the palette. The palette itself is lightweight and easy to carry and has a fairly decent sized mirror, perfect for applying on the go.

Clover A Girl's Best Friend Palette:
From Too Faced this palette currently retails at $49 and is currently sold out on Ulta, however, can be purchased directly from Too Faced. I was first drawn to the palette for its amazing packaging (how cute though!!) and the fact I haven't purchased any Too Faced palettes since the Chocolate Bon Bons palette and that one was so good, I knew I needed to try another. The shades in this palette have some rather strange names like daddies heart me. I assume the names in the palette is based on dog-related items. The palette itself has some interesting shade choices from pale pinks to a mustard yellow and just about everything in between. I think this palette is great for creating all year round looks.

Too Faced Primed Poreless
Sketch Marker Too Faced

Too Faced Primed Poreless Powder:
Good news for us Brits, this is actually an item you can purchase in the UK from Debenhams, I was drawn to this firstly for the Polly Pocket esq packaging. The powder itself is £24.00 in the UK and can be used for priming and also to set makeup which I think is pretty cool. This would be fab for using on the go as it includes a poof to put it on with and also has a little mirror.

Chocolate Brownie Eyebrow Pencil:
2017 was the year I discovered filling in your eyebrows is actually a pretty good thing to do and can make your whole makeup look complete. Throughout the year I tried a variety of products and never quite found the right one, I have fallen head over heels in love with this gorgeous product from Too Faced. The Chocolate Brownie eyebrow pencil is $23, it's long lasting and smells amazing. I love this for a quick and easy application, as well as topping up on the go. The only downside to these types of eyebrow pencils is that it can easily snap, meaning that it runs out a lot quicker.

Too Faced Sketch Marker:
I've wanted to try these eyeliners for the longest time, when I went to the States they only had them in bright colours and as fab as a pink and orange eyeliner would be, I don't know how much use I'd really get out of it. This eyeliner is $20 and the same price as the Kat Von D lock it liner, I am a huge fan of the Kat Von D one but I decided to give this one a try also. I love the packaging, the heart on the lid and the font on the front make it appealing. However, sadly I don't think it's as good as the Kat Von D one, although it's still a good liner.

Part 2, coming soon!

Gift guide for all beauty lovers

Gift guide for all beauty lovers

Beauty Gift Guide 2017:
For once in my life I am actually prepared around Christmas, I have the majority of my presents sorted, the trees are up (and have been for some time now) and I am in the festive spirit full swing. If you read Dungarees & Donuts a lot, you'll be aware I am a huge fan of creating gift guides, it gives a platform to show off your favourite items and also give others inspiration too. Hopefully, you enjoy this gift guide and let me know in the comments what your favourite beauty gifts are.

Drape and Colour Makeup Brushes £21.00:
Real Techniques have really gone all out this year with their holiday gift sets, there are so many to chose from. The drape and colour set contains 4 brushes, as well as a beauty blender and a mirror. The first thing that drew me to this collection was the colour of the brushes, and how cheap it was for what you get! The brushes included in the set are a multitask brush used for bronzing and highlighting, I use mine to set my powder also. Multitask cheek brush for creating that flawless edge, and the real techniques website advises this can be used for "an extreme tapered cut can be used to drape blush onto apples of cheeks, around the hairline, and down jawline". A lip blur brush, I have to admit before this set I had not heard of this brush, I have learnt it is great for creating a soft lip look and great for blending out the colour of your lips. Finally the lip brush, this is so perfect for creating any lip look, the brush is defined and so easy to use, I love to put my Urban Decay lipstick vice on with this as it creates such a lovely look. The mirror is great for having in your handbag for on the go. You can purchase this from the real techniques website

Colour correcting set £16.00:
Can I start off by saying, how lush is this gift set? Another winner from Real Techniques for sure. This set contains four brushes and four blenders, and the way in which this works is it should make colour correcting easier, by having colours for each category and what works best to cover what. You can buy a variety of coloured concealer which matches these brushes. Taken from the Real Techniques site these are what the each of the colours is for:
Cancel sallowness with lavender
Cover + conceal darkness with peach
Neutralise redness with green
Brighten with pink

For those looking to get into colour correcting, this is the perfect set for you.

MAVALA Dancing Queen Mini Nail Trio Gift Set £13.50:
I have always been a huge fan of Mavala, those small pots of nail varnish last so long, and don't end up going weird and runny like some nail varnish, the colours are the perfect glittery shades for your works Christmas party or even just in the run-up to Christmas. Dancing Queen is the colour that appealed to me the most, such a pretty shade. All of the shades are glittery and long-lasting.

Sleek MakeUP essentially Sleek kit £10.00:
This gift set is perfect for keeping in your handbag, with three mini products and a makeup bag to store them in, it's great for on the go. All of the products are light and great for finishing off any look. The eyeshadow palette contains twelve mini shades all in a compact light palette with a mirror built in. The kit also contains a mini mascara and a matte me lip cream. I would give this gift to anyone who is looking for a secret Santa gift if the recipient likes make up obviously haha! There are plenty of other amazing Sleek Gift sets in their collection including my favourite the Rioja red pout and polish kit

Vera Wang Princess:
This perfume is one of the best I've smelt in a long time, along with a beautiful bottle and something I've wanted for a long time. I am awful at describing the scents of perfume, but The Fragrance shop advises Its sexy scent includes a mixture of water lily, apple, mandarin meringue, and golden apricot skin, dark chocolate, amber, musk, and vanilla. It's a lovely girly scent, and the fact that bottle has two rings on it makes it extra special. You can purchase this from Chemist 4 u for £22.99 for 100ml.

Let me know what beauty gifts you'd recommend this Christmas!

My wishlist for Look Fantastic

My wishlist for Look Fantastic

With Christmas presents being my main priority since October, I've pretty much been on a spending ban for anything for myself and this includes one of my greatest loves in life, makeup. Luckily for me, my birthday is in January which means all of the sales! Whilst I haven't been spending money, I've grown a wishlist the size of my arm and when I saw that Go Girl are running a competition to win a £200 gift card for Look Fantastic, I decided to share some of my top picks and what I'd purchase if I won. To be in with a chance to win, all you need to do is follow @gogirlinsurance and RT their pinned tweet and complete your details on their competition page. You need to be quick though as this ends on the 20th!

Hopefully you enjoy this post and it's been forever since I've done a wishlist themed post, so I am little excited to be creating this. Let me know in the comments what you'd purchase if you won and good luck!

Skinny Dip x Tangle Teezer-
My hair is ridiculously thick, and I couldn't imagine being able to deal with it, without some kind of detangling brush. I love this one especially as the design is adorable and I am a huge fan of all things Skinny Dip (their phone cases are LUSH!) so it wouldn't seem right to do a haul without one of these beauties. £13.50.

Dermalogica Breakout Clearing Kit-
Real talk for a second, I am a huge acne sufferer and it's one of my biggest flaws about myself, I am always on the look out for a good skincare routine to get it sorted. I've heard some amazing things about this kit, and I would love to try it. £23.40.

Ciate London Liquid Chrome in Zodiac-
I was completely unaware until browsing Look Fantastic that Ciate; did anything other than nail varnish. However I am so glad they do, this liquid lipstick looks beautiful and the perfect shade for me and the packaging gives me all of the unicorn vibes. For £15.00, it's something I'd definitely want to purchase.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation-
I can hands down say this one of the best foundations I've ever tried. It's great for coverage, as well as being super long lasting and the foundation itself lasts a long time. It's super easy to blend and gives you that flawless finish, the Estee Lauder foundation comes in at £32.50.

Pixi Lovelies Eyeshadow Palette-
I am the kind of person who will wear coloured eyeshadow all year round, I love bright colours and putting them on my face makes me feel happy and more cheerful, plus I always get more compliments when I wear the brighter colours, probably due to the majority of my outfits containing 0 colour. This palette is a great price at £22.00 for 18 shadows and fab for all year round!

What is on your beauty wishlist?

Beauty products you need to try!

Beauty products you need to try!

Originally back in 2013 when I started this blog I planned for it to be a beauty blog, I am obsessed with makeup and own far too much (according to everyone else, of course) and I am forever buying a ton of products and then never featuring them on the blog. So that's where the beauty edit comes in, similar to a monthly round up but of beauty products I've been loving throughout the month and basically give you a mini review of each. As this is my first one, it's a bit of a round up of the products I've been loving for a while now, let me know in the comments if you want to see more of these posts.

Beauty Edit

Luxe Studio 2 piece brush set*:
I've been using about this style of brush for some time now, at first I thought they looked a bit like toothbrushes, oops bad blogger alert. However once I read into them a lot more I found out they work well due to the bristles being densely packed together as well as the shape of them. I found 7X (the bigger brush of the two) perfect for blending in foundation and BB cream and 6X (the smaller brush) perfect for highlight and also pretty good for concealer. These are also beautiful for photographing as they are a beautiful rose gold colour. These brushes are exclusive to Boots and cost £18.99 for the set.

NYX liquid Suede

L'oreal infallible primer

L'oreal Infallible primer:
This primer has been a favourite product of mine since I discovered primer about 2 years ago. It's super easy to apply, feels pretty heavy on your fingers however when it is applied on to the skin it feels lightweight and leaves the skin feeling INSANELY soft. It's a budget primer and you only need a little amount to cover a full face, so would totally recommend it to anyone looking to get into using primer. I found it amazing at keeping my foundation in place and it also made my makeup look complete and it makes foundation even easier to apply on top of it.

GOSH Brow Shape & Fill*:
So I am gonna admit something to you all, and even though I have been seriously into my makeup for a while now it is only recently I decided to start filling in my eyebrows, growing up everyone filled them in with black eyeliner and they looked like slugs (to be honest) and it's put me off ever trying them myself. However I know the products available now are so much better so I decided to invest in an eyebrow pencil from Boots and fell in love with the finished look, however I noticed this pencil broke a lot so I decided I needed something better. That's where GOSH Brow Shape & Fill fits in, with a shade which actually looks amazing on my eyebrows, easy to apply and doesn't break every 5 seconds. I am super happy with this.

GOSH highlight

Nyx Liquid Suede:
For someone who has been big into their lip products since the age of 12, when I found NYX was in the UK (finally) I knew I had to treat myself to bits and it's just spiralled from there. I own a lot of the liquid suede collection and I own all of the purples they have. This lighter purple which is also known as sway is a shade I wasn't sure about along with their little denim dress. Both look out of this world in the packaging but on my lips I wasn't sure. However I was so happy to have purchased both, they give stellar looks and are super long lasting. I sometimes use it as a base and then put run the world on top as it builds and makes a really cool colour together. These are currently £7.00 from Feel Unique.

Rubis Tweezers*:
When I was sent the press release for this product, the words "Described by Bobbi Brown as the Ferrari of tweezers" stood out to me and I knew I needed to try these out for myself. I have to say myself, they are SO good for removing any stray hairs and they are pretty much painless, you are able to quickly and effectively remove any hairs with these. They are a little pricey at £19.50, however they are damn good. If you're curious as to why the name is Rubis like I was the reason is "Originally created to precisely place rubies in watches by luxury watch brands such as Cartier and Rolex, the tweezers are the at the top of the tweezer-game when it comes to performance." Which I thought was pretty cool!

Gosh highlighter*:
I have been loving this highlight for travelling lately, it is the perfect handbag/makeup bag size for on the go and contains four beautiful shades. It's made me happy that it is easier to carry around on the go so I am able to complete my look anywhere. I am not the best at makeup by any means but even I found this highlighter easy to apply, it's not to shimmery which I find a lot of them to be which is a little off putting for me and is pretty long lasting. For £12.99 I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a new highlight.

Makeup drop

Urban Decay All Nighter Spray*:
Earlier this year Urban Decay decided give their setting spray a little makeover, and I am glad they did as their new packaging is so lush. I always found my old one looking so dirty after being put in my bag for a while. However their new sleek packaging is so much better, I have their full sized spray as well as their mini travel sized one (again perfect for on the go) I've always loved this product as it honestly keeps your makeup in place for so long. I used to find my eye makeup moved down my face as the day progressed but this keeps it in place, woo!

Makeup Drop*:
Last but not least is the lovely Makeup Drop, a unique silicone beauty applicator. Not the prettiest thing around, however it feels amazing to apply makeup with, easy to clean also. It is also great for blotting away any excess grease on the skin. Apply an product with it and then you can blend easily, a lot of people use it for contour. I have been using it to apply my foundation (as well as at the start possibly used it as a stress ball, I am such a bad blogger). My foundation looks more flawless and I found it easier to apply as well. This product comes in at £14.00 and is available from Boots.

I hope you enjoyed a beauty related post, and let me know if you want to see more of these!

The Glendower Hotel Review- St Annes.

The Glendower Hotel Review- St Annes.

A last minute trip to Blackpool for a few days in my week off brought us to the Glendower Hotel in St Annes, a 20 minute car journey away from Blackpool. I was excited to go to Blackpool and stay at hotel which the internet describes as clean, luxurious and welcoming. Upon arrival we were greeted at reception went through all of the little details and were shown to our room which was room 116, I first noticed in the corridor outside of the room there was a huge brown piece of wood as they were doing some renovations of the rooms in our corridor, however once we walked into our room that was all forgotten. First greeted by a beautiful looking double bed (which may I add, was SO comfy) on the site there was an assortment of coffee and teas which is always good and a couple of glasses for water, along with a hair dryer (the one time I bring mine of course!) following this I went and checked out the bathroom which had such a lovely looking sink, a bath and an array of complimentary soaps and bath items. Me and Will also noticed the bathroom had an amazing light on the mirror perfect for taking selfies.

When looking around the room we noticed the book of information and the hotel has gym facilities along with a beauty room and for anything extra you may need you can call reception including room service, however when we went to call them for a fan we noticed that the phone wasn't actually working due to the wiring hanging out the wall. This was when we decided to test the other electrics as well, however the main lights were not working either. Due to this we went down to reception to advise, and they came up to have a look, they said as were only staying one night there wasn't much they could do about the phone however for the lights you just had to make sure the other switches were turned off, it was a little annoying they didn't seem bothered by this however with such a nice room and it only being one night we decided to let it go and not bother us. Following this we went out for the rest of the day, came back to the hotel and I had a lovely bath, followed by the BEST sleep.

In the morning I woke up ridiculously early due to my routine from work, so we decided to go get breakfast at 7:30am, which I am glad for as there was so much choice at this time. We were greeted by a lovely waiter who took us to a table and explained how it works. Buffet breakfast followed by a hot breakfast which I was pretty impressed by. Round the corner there was a variety of cereals, fruit, pastries and finally my favourite thing ever- cheese (including babybels!) In the section after this there were two big containers of fruit juice, orange and apple which were both so yummy. Then on the back wall were two coffee machines a huge variety of teas and a machine to make toast with plenty of bread choices. For my hot breakfast I had the vegetarian breakfast which was deep fried halloumi, hash brown, egg, beans, fried bread, veggie sausage and a big mushroom. Which I also had with two rounds of brown toast, yummy. Will decided to have some crumpets followed by many bowls of cereal and some toast.

As it was still so early once we had finished we decided to walk around the hotel, as it is very open and there are loads of comfy seating areas, perfect for reading or a great view. At the bottom of the corridor we found the gym which was INSANE better than a lot of the gyms I've been to and it was in the hotel, it had a variety of weights, choices of machines for pretty much everything, treadmills, steps and lots of other things, it was super clean, spacious and as it was so early it was empty so we made the most of this. We spent around an hour in the gym, before going back to our room and showering before heading out.

Overall my stay in the Glendower Hotel was fabulous, with a great selection of breakfast items, a lovely looking room, a great gym and free wifi.

Visit the Glendower Hotel: North Promenade, St. Annes-on-Sea FY8 2NQ.

What I've Been Lovin' Lately #5

What I've Been Lovin' Lately #5

Things I've been lovin' lately is back, I felt like I was doing these a lot when I started doing them as they're so much fun to create, but the last one I did was back in April so it's about time that it made a return, yay. If you don't know the premise of this series of posts, it's literally where I share things I've been lovin' over the last month or so, can be anything from a new TV show to a new type of food I've tried. I hope you enjoy edition 5 of this post and feel free to leave in the comments what you've been lovin' lately.

ColourPop Eyeshadow:
If you don't know about ColourPop where have you been for the last few years, ColourPop is a beauty brand who have high-quality products for cheap prices, they're an American brand but now ship to England. The last time they offered free shipping I treated myself to a bunch of their pressed pigments and the colour in them is insane. I get so many compliments at work on my eye makeup as it is just stand out and they make any eyeshadow look pop, (ha, get it!) My favourite shades are Slave2Pink , Fantasy and Daddy.

Since I've returned to the world of blogging I've been on the lookout for a new blogging companion, in the past I've never really invested in a camera but with so many amazing photographers/blog photos I thought it was time to step up my game. When looking around at Cameras i've found some super awesome Canon ones which I've heard a lot about and once I finally decide on a budget and which camera is right for me, i'll be investing. I would love to know what cameras you guys use for blogging in the comments!

Sass & Belle:
You've probably seen the company Sass & Belle featured on my blog a lot, but I can't help but share their adorable pieces with you once more. They offer so much cute homeware and stationery goodness, my favourite things on their website at the moment are their 'I Can't Adult Today' mug, floral measuring cups and also their cactus salt and pepper shakers *cute alert*

Getting healthier:
Recently I've start to get back into eating better, counting calories as well as going to the gym. I have turned going to the gym something that I find fun as opposed to a chore, I started to research different types of protein bars as well as protein shakes for after going to the gym as well as new healthy food options, and I've been bulking out all of my meals with tons of vegetables to try make it more filling and a lot more healthy.  Next step to go to some of the classes at the gym as they look super fun.

This month at work I've been doing a lot of training including a qualification in customer service, and it's like they say, you never stop learning. I was online looking at different things and came across mediaworks whitepaper where they share information and forecasts on upcoming things, their most current one is about Fashion and how best to work digital marketing in that sector and also talk about the brands they market for. I think it's a great tool for upcoming companies who want to learn how to do their own digital marketing and it is also an amazing read for bloggers also. Speaking of learning, I mentioned in What i've been lovin' lately #4 that I am learning to drive and in two weeks I am doing my test again, yay.

Let me know what you've been lovin' this month!

Beauty Wishlist!

Beauty Wishlist!

Hi all, how are we doing? I am finally back in the spirits of blogging again and full of ideas and motivation (about time!!) I've been a little bit distant on the blog front this year with lots of big changes in my life, but I am finally happy to be able to say I am ready to be back to blogging with lots of regular posts. I love doing wishlist styled posts and as a creative they are my favourite types of posts to do as I am able to create them on Photoshop, I do many style ones so I've decided to mix it up and do a beauty one as there are SO many amazing new products around at the moment that I can't wait to get my hands on. If you fancy checking out my Sephora wishlist you can do here.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette:
I went to purchase this palette from the Urban Decay site and noticed it was already sold out *sad face* with lots of gorgeous pinks and reds it's the perfect summer to go palette. I hope I'll be able to get my hands on this eventually.

Too Faced Natural Eyeshadow Collection:
I am in love with eyeshadow palettes, permanently. I will forever invest in new ones despite having so many which I've hardly used. This collection has 30 utterly beautiful shades, perfect for creating so many looks, ALL YEAR ROUND.

Kat Von D Shade and Light palette:
I've wanted this palette since I was in the States last year and just have never gotten around to purchase it, now Kat Von D is available from Debenhams, it makes it so much easier to purchase yay.

Christian Louboutin Nail Varnish:
I am currently big into doing my nails, whether that is at the salon or a cute colour at home. I am slowly growing my nail varnish collection as it is the smallest amount of makeup I own. I am not sure if I was drawn to this for the packaging or the name but it looks insane and there is an amazing range of colours.

Things I am loving this March | Lifestyle

Things I am loving this March | Lifestyle

It doesn't seem five minutes since we were all tucking into our Christmas dinners, but we're now a quarter of the way through 2017, which has already been an eventful year. March is known as the month of madness, and this year has been no exception. Today, I'm taking a look at some of the highlights of what has been an action-packed past few weeks.

March Blockbuster Madness

This month has played host to a number of new film releases, from independent flicks to big-budget Hollywood blockbusters. I am loving quite a few of the latter, from the dark intensity of Marvel's Logan, to the larger-than-life character of Kong in Skull Island.
There's also the action-packed Ghost in the Shell, and for those who like nostalgia Saban's Power Rangers. Of course, let's not forget Disney's magical-looking live action version of Beauty and the Beast, starring Harry Potter veteran Emma Watson. While the box office might have been left a little crowded as a result of such a prosperous month, it's good news for us customers, with many, many movies to choose from to suit virtually every taste!

Nintendo Switch

March also saw the launch of the latest video games console, as Nintendo released its Switch on the third of the month amidst widespread consumer hype. Although the Japanese gaming giant's previous console, the Wii U didn't manage to grab our attention for long enough, the Switch is interesting because it's the first hybrid home and portable console of its kind. It allows players to play the same game at home and effortlessly continue where they left off on the go! Which sounds great to me!

This is an especially great feature for people, like me, who lack a little self-control and can't quit their favourite title. You can now stop putting off going out the front door because you can just take your game with you! With a stellar launch line-up including the always popular The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the Switch looks to have a more promising future than Nintendo's last effort. While the £279.99 price tag might put you off, a study by Voucherbox suggests that Nintendo have a tendency for quickly reducing the price of their new consoles, so I may hold off until it maybe hits the £200 mark.

This Viral Video
While you can barely sneak a peek on Facebook these days without being flooded with countless viral videos, March saw the birth of a 44-second clip that is sure to remain enduring in the months and years to come; we'll still be looking back on the video at the end of the year with amusement and fondness.

If you haven't seen the video in question yet, then where have you been? In this adorable clip, Professor Robert Kelly's attempt to be interviewed by BBC News about South Korea is interrupted by his children. This video has everything: it's both heartwarming and hilarious in equal measure, reminding you of either your own younger carefree days or those of your kids. It's also left may of us wishing we had the staggering confidence of the child the internet has dubbed "BBC girl"! I also heard some say that he probably didn't get up to help because he was naked from the waist down, but I think he was just in his pyjamas - not a good look for BBC News anyway.

Pi Day

Did you celebrate Pi Day 2017? Whether you love maths or pie, March 14 is always a great day to celebrate both, and this year was no exception. While the day itself is supposed to be in recognition of the mathematical constant approximated to 3.14159, many choose to take the opportunity to celebrate the sweet treat that shares its name. I did, for sure.

As I'm sure you'll agree, the mixing of two slightly niche interests leads to much more interesting results, with schools, offices and social groups around the world partaking in the tradition. If you missed Pi Day, however, don't worry: there are still plenty more fun themed days coming up this year: Talk Like a Pirate Day, anyone?

So what do you think – what are your favourite March memories? Let me know in the comments below.

Best Budget Holidays For March 2017!

Best Budget Holidays For March 2017!

As the cold of winter slowly melts away and we really start looking to the year ahead, many of us are gripped with a yearning for adventure! Over at Holiday Gems, however, it’s recognised that a lot of people struggle to find a way to appease this wanderlust while trying to nurse their bank accounts back to health post-Christmas. So, we’ve come up with four suggested escapes that will satisfy your itchy feet without the financial sting.

If you want to escape March’s typical grey gloom, then Portugal is the perfect location to get a hit of great weather. January sees the temperature drop to a balmy 14-15 degrees celsius, and this climbs gradually as the year progresses to an average of 28 in August, with March sitting as a happy medium between the two. It’s a great escape for foodies, so you may want to set aside a good portion of your budget to enable you to experience the country’s sumptuous culinary delights, and, with sea on two sides, it’s the perfect destination for a beach break. You can experience the Algarve for as low as £150.19 for five nights per person!

More year-round sunshine can be found on the glorious Mediterranean island of Malta. From just over £109 per person for five nights, the ultimate sun, sea and sand experience can be yours for the taking. Experience an enriching adventure as you explore ancient cobbled villages and learn the island’s ancient myths, or grab life with both hands and dance the night away in one of Malta’s exhilarating clubs or sample the delights of Maltese cuisine. The island’s landscape is flat and sprawling, meaning you can get about with ease, and it’s a great place to bring people with little legs!

From the bazaar to the snow-capped mountains to the sandy seaside, Turkey’s popularity as a holiday destinations never seems to wane - which is unsurprising as you can fly there and stay for four nights from under £160. Hardy explorers can quench their thirst for adventure by delving into the wilderness on hikes or learn about the diverse heritage and cultures of this fascinating country, while those who just need a relaxing break will be spoilt rotten by the vast array of glorious beaches and rich opportunities for some much-needed retail therapy in cities such as the thriving Istanbul. The food is superb and varied - so don’t miss the opportunity to sample both the gorgeous street food and the sumptuous finer cuisine.

If you’re setting your sights further afield, Mexico may just be the place for you. The temperature rarely drops below the twenties all year round, and a visit in March means that you can avail yourself of the drier weather and avoid tropical storms. Far less costly than a journey to the U.S., Mexico is within reach for just over £861 a week per individual, flights included. The country may be most famous for its rich and wholesome cuisine, but also brims with a wealth of ancient architecture (some prehistoric!) and awe-inspiring natural beauty.
