4 Places To Get Awesome Beauty Advice | Beauty

4 Places To Get Awesome Beauty Advice | Beauty

I addicted to looking at different beauty tips and products online at the moment, it came after my addiction to beauty gurus on youtube! I think it's super cool to learn new tips and tricks from others and without amazing tips from others how can you improve yourself, everyone has to start somewhere right? I love tips about different ways to apply makeup, new makeup looks, quick ways to cleanse your body, how to have the perfect pamper etc. I find it awesome to find somewhere which supplies you with instant beauty knowledge that you may not of known previously, so today I thought I would share with you my favourite places to find out new makeup and beauty tips and advice.

Magazine Snap

Grazia Beauty
One of my favourites when it comes to discovering tips and favourites, the Grazia beauty page has a huge amount of tips like the most flattering eye make for your eye shape and why it's important to drink 8 glasses of water a day (something I really need to start doing) their page reminds me a bit of their magazine but all based around beauty and at a click of your fingertip which is pretty awesome, it's always one of my go-to places when I am looking for a bit of advice, I know it'll be on Grazia.

Beauty Blogs
Well this is an obvious one, being a blogger myself I am a huge fan of reading blogs and I love reading other beauty gurus tips and advice as they give you everything from on budget products, to high-end products and every type of makeup look under the sun. I am a huge fan of LBQ as Hayley shares a huge variety of beauty knowledge which is a massive help to me. As well as Really Ree and Polished Couture who are also amazing for their beauty knowledge and blogs.

Youtubers
Another obvious one, who doesn't watch Youtube videos when it comes to learning new beauty tips and tricks. I love watching a variety of Youtubers for different things and I have recently discovered some new faves such as Hey Claire and Luna Fay Beauty and some old faves such as Gabriella, Tati and Lucy. If you haven't checked out any of those amazing Youtubers you need to, as they're all fab.

Magazines
This one has been a long-standing favourite for me, it's something I've always done and probably will do for a lot longer, I love flicking through the pages of a magazine and getting tips and the latest products to get my hands on and I think a magazine is an amazing place to find out lots of new products which are highly recommended.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what your thoughts are in the comments!

Latest In Beauty Subscription Box Review.

Latest In Beauty Subscription Box Review.

Latest In Beauty is one of the subscription boxes I have loved since the early days of my blog. Back then I would invest in their one-off boxes, as the content of the boxes were always a lot more than what you paid and it was a great way to try out products which I wouldn't usually buy. Compared to boxes such as Glossybox, the Latest in Beauty box was always more exciting, plus you knew what was inside, although it wasn't a surprise. I'd rather know what I am getting in a box. Latest In Beauty, now offer subscription boxes where you pick the products yourself, they offer 3 types of boxes, 3, 6 and 9 products. Which is fabulous as it suits pretty much every price range.

Recently I was offered the chance to pick out 9 products in my very own box, which retails at £18.00 per month. For 3 products it's £9.00 and for 6 it's £15.00. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of brands on site, as well as the fact that a lot of the items were full sized as opposed to simple sized products. The box took around 5 days to arrive, but it was a surprise all over again when it came as I could only remember 3 products I had chosen, whoops! The box was wrapped up so nicely and I couldn't wait to get testing out my goodies. I hope you enjoy reading about my picks and what I thought of them!

Mini Miss Piggy's Big Number from OPI:
I am a huge fan of OPI and own a fair few of their nail varnishes, the quality is fab and the lasting power is pretty strong. I went for this shade due to the cool blue mermaid vibes it was giving off and it was calling my name. I like the mini polishes as they're lightweight and perfect for carrying in your handbag or when travelling. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

Soigne Betteraves Rouges Polish:
It's been several years since I've tried any nail varnish from Soigne, in fact, the last time was back in 2015! When I saw this beautiful red colour, I knew I had to go for it. I am massively into painting my nails at the moment and red is such a statement colour. The formula is easy to apply and covers really well in a matter of one coat and dries so quickly. I found it to not be as long-lasting as my OPI polish, although it is still such a pretty colour so I would totally repurchase this. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆

Sally Hansen Shimmer Me Timbers:
I decided to go for this polish as I have never actually tried Sally Hansen and I loved the idea of miracle gel, this polish and gel can last up to 14 days, without a lamp. Sounds like a win right? I am not a huge fan of the colour as it's not really very me, but I did find the gel polish to be fab. It dries super quick and is easy to remove with normal remover, I am not about that acetone life. I found it made my nails feel so much stronger too, win! Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆

MUA Twelfth Night Palette:
I've always had a love-hate relationship with MUA, I find some of their products to be amazing and some to be pretty awful, but for budget beauty, you can't win everytime right? I decided to go for this palette as it's been a while since I've gotten anything from them. I was surprised at how pigmented the shades were in this palette and the shades are fab for creating a smoky eye. The palette itself is super lightweight, which again is great for carrying around in your bag. My favourite shades of the palette are Oudh and Plum as these stood out to me and look lush on. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆

Murad Exfoliating Cleanser:
I have such acne prone skin and use Murad in my skin routine every day as it seems to keep my spots at bay. When I saw there was a Murad cleanser on the Latest in Beauty site, I knew I needed to pick it. I had recently run out of my acne cleanser from Murad I was using, so I was more than happy to have an alternative to use. The cleanser is fabulous as it feels like you've cleaned your skin really well and it has some exfoliating properties in, which always leaves my skin feeling so much smoother. I would recommend any Murad products to anyone, as they seem to have a product to fix most skin problems. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

Flower Power Refreshing Face Mist:

The packaging of this product was what first caught my eye, I wasn't sure whether it was a deodorant or a hair product, it turned out to be neither, it is, in fact, a refreshing face mist. I love the concept of the product too. The mist is great for when you're feeling a little hot, after the gym, or even after running for the bus. We all get sweaty at some point, it's like a little pick me up to leave you feeling fresh once again. Plus it smells amazing! Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆

Nugg Face Mask:
I've been interested in trying these for the longest time but the price has put me off a little. So being able to try one in this box, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. First thing I noticed was how compact the product was, these are single-use pods which creates less mess and keeps them fresher for longer. It only takes around 10 minutes for the mask to be ready to come off, so fab for a pamper in a rush. The product itself left my skin feeling softer and a lot less oily, and I noticed my acne seemed less red after just one application. Rating: ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

Soft and Gentle 0% Aluminium:
I love the fact that the Latest In Beauty box includes other products than just makeup. I have not heard of this brand for deodorant, however, it turns out they're pretty popular. It was easy to apply and smells pretty good too. It keeps the odours at bay, it felt like it took a long time to dry and left my underarms feeling sticky. Not a huge fan of this product sadly. Rating: ⋆⋆

Nude by nature foundation:
Stupidly I picked up the wrong shade of foundation so it would be unfair to rate this one as I actually cannot give my honest opinion on it, I will say that the packaging of the product is pretty and it's super lightweight, perfect for on the go.

Overall, I think the Latest In Beauty, Beauty Guru box was a fabulous success, I would probably not purchase them every month, due to the cost being a little high for my budget, but I would love to buy this as a treat for myself, especially when there a lot of products that spike my interest.

Have you ever tried any of the Latest In Beauty boxes?

Beauty products you need to try!

Beauty products you need to try!

Originally back in 2013 when I started this blog I planned for it to be a beauty blog, I am obsessed with makeup and own far too much (according to everyone else, of course) and I am forever buying a ton of products and then never featuring them on the blog. So that's where the beauty edit comes in, similar to a monthly round up but of beauty products I've been loving throughout the month and basically give you a mini review of each. As this is my first one, it's a bit of a round up of the products I've been loving for a while now, let me know in the comments if you want to see more of these posts.

Beauty Edit

Luxe Studio 2 piece brush set*:
I've been using about this style of brush for some time now, at first I thought they looked a bit like toothbrushes, oops bad blogger alert. However once I read into them a lot more I found out they work well due to the bristles being densely packed together as well as the shape of them. I found 7X (the bigger brush of the two) perfect for blending in foundation and BB cream and 6X (the smaller brush) perfect for highlight and also pretty good for concealer. These are also beautiful for photographing as they are a beautiful rose gold colour. These brushes are exclusive to Boots and cost £18.99 for the set.

NYX liquid Suede

L'oreal infallible primer

L'oreal Infallible primer:
This primer has been a favourite product of mine since I discovered primer about 2 years ago. It's super easy to apply, feels pretty heavy on your fingers however when it is applied on to the skin it feels lightweight and leaves the skin feeling INSANELY soft. It's a budget primer and you only need a little amount to cover a full face, so would totally recommend it to anyone looking to get into using primer. I found it amazing at keeping my foundation in place and it also made my makeup look complete and it makes foundation even easier to apply on top of it.

GOSH Brow Shape & Fill*:
So I am gonna admit something to you all, and even though I have been seriously into my makeup for a while now it is only recently I decided to start filling in my eyebrows, growing up everyone filled them in with black eyeliner and they looked like slugs (to be honest) and it's put me off ever trying them myself. However I know the products available now are so much better so I decided to invest in an eyebrow pencil from Boots and fell in love with the finished look, however I noticed this pencil broke a lot so I decided I needed something better. That's where GOSH Brow Shape & Fill fits in, with a shade which actually looks amazing on my eyebrows, easy to apply and doesn't break every 5 seconds. I am super happy with this.

GOSH highlight

Nyx Liquid Suede:
For someone who has been big into their lip products since the age of 12, when I found NYX was in the UK (finally) I knew I had to treat myself to bits and it's just spiralled from there. I own a lot of the liquid suede collection and I own all of the purples they have. This lighter purple which is also known as sway is a shade I wasn't sure about along with their little denim dress. Both look out of this world in the packaging but on my lips I wasn't sure. However I was so happy to have purchased both, they give stellar looks and are super long lasting. I sometimes use it as a base and then put run the world on top as it builds and makes a really cool colour together. These are currently £7.00 from Feel Unique.

Rubis Tweezers*:
When I was sent the press release for this product, the words "Described by Bobbi Brown as the Ferrari of tweezers" stood out to me and I knew I needed to try these out for myself. I have to say myself, they are SO good for removing any stray hairs and they are pretty much painless, you are able to quickly and effectively remove any hairs with these. They are a little pricey at £19.50, however they are damn good. If you're curious as to why the name is Rubis like I was the reason is "Originally created to precisely place rubies in watches by luxury watch brands such as Cartier and Rolex, the tweezers are the at the top of the tweezer-game when it comes to performance." Which I thought was pretty cool!

Gosh highlighter*:
I have been loving this highlight for travelling lately, it is the perfect handbag/makeup bag size for on the go and contains four beautiful shades. It's made me happy that it is easier to carry around on the go so I am able to complete my look anywhere. I am not the best at makeup by any means but even I found this highlighter easy to apply, it's not to shimmery which I find a lot of them to be which is a little off putting for me and is pretty long lasting. For £12.99 I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a new highlight.

Makeup drop

Urban Decay All Nighter Spray*:
Earlier this year Urban Decay decided give their setting spray a little makeover, and I am glad they did as their new packaging is so lush. I always found my old one looking so dirty after being put in my bag for a while. However their new sleek packaging is so much better, I have their full sized spray as well as their mini travel sized one (again perfect for on the go) I've always loved this product as it honestly keeps your makeup in place for so long. I used to find my eye makeup moved down my face as the day progressed but this keeps it in place, woo!

Makeup Drop*:
Last but not least is the lovely Makeup Drop, a unique silicone beauty applicator. Not the prettiest thing around, however it feels amazing to apply makeup with, easy to clean also. It is also great for blotting away any excess grease on the skin. Apply an product with it and then you can blend easily, a lot of people use it for contour. I have been using it to apply my foundation (as well as at the start possibly used it as a stress ball, I am such a bad blogger). My foundation looks more flawless and I found it easier to apply as well. This product comes in at £14.00 and is available from Boots.

I hope you enjoyed a beauty related post, and let me know if you want to see more of these!

World Duty Free Exclusives | Beauty

World Duty Free Exclusives | Beauty

I am super excited about today's post as it is all about beauty and exclusive beauty at that, today I shall be sharing with you some of the gorgeous pieces you can pick up during your next trip to Duty Free before you jet off abroad! When I have time to kill in an airport I usually only have a couple of things on my mind, first is usually where is the food around here? Then secondly where is the beauty products I need to get shopping and with duty free having plenty of bargains as well as exclusives it's totally a must for any beauty lover. I was kindly sent some samples from World Duty Free for this post so I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing it! So without further ado lets dig in.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was four mini Chloe perfumes and with this being a brand I have wanted to try for ages I was quite over the moon with this. Each of the perfumes comes in an adorable little dainty bottle perfect for those who like to try before they buy or to take on holiday with them instead of carrying a massive perfume. I love the idea of this set as you can try a good amount of the Chloe perfumes and really get a feel for the scent which you like the most. The one I fell in love with instantly was Love Story, with such a clean fragrance and has a little bit of a floral kick to it. The fragrance is fun, loving and long lasting the perfect scent for any Summer holiday.

World Duty Free Chloe

World Duty Free Chloe
How adorable are these bottles?

Next on the list at duty free is a product I have never heard of before but as soon as I saw the brand I knew it was going to be a good un. This product is Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream from bareMinerals. If you haven't heard of bareMinerals they are a massive brand in the States which started in San Francisco and has now spread across the world. All of their products are loving to the skin and still give a fabulous edge. The butter drench is a cream which is perfect for just about anything as it is full of Shea butter. Perfect for anywhere on the body, I love it because I can apply it my face as well as my body and saves me taking loads of different products when I travel.

World Duty Free Baremineals

Following this is another product I am so excited to share with you and that is a gorgeous dark blue nail varnish from YSL, before this I hadn't actually tried any of the amazing nail varnishes from YSL only their lipsticks. When I saw this colour I was so happy as it was something I would of picked out for myself, being super edgy and eye catching. Sometimes although they are expensive I find some nail varnish a bit of a let down but this is actually amazing, I feel it would last at least 5 days whilst you're on holiday so it saves you having to keep repainting your nails. Only downside is I found it a little hard to get off when I was ready to take it off. But other than that I give a huge thumbs up to YSL for yet another amazing product.

World Duty Free YSL nail varnish

The final product which I found in the box of goodies was this beautiful set of Elizabeth Arden lip protectant sticks, which are essentially beautiful tinted lip balms but they have an added extra of SPF 15 which I find to be amazing as not a lot of people consider the damage of sun to your lips. The colour of these lip protectants is actually a lot more pigmented than I thought in the red and pink which I actually really enjoy as you can still look amazing whilst giving your lips the protection they need during the heat. The packaging of the product is luxurious and with this set you get 3 for the price of 2 *win*

World Duty Free Elizabeth Arden

If you are jetting off on holiday soon remember to check out World Duty Free.

The Naked Edit | Beauty

The Naked Edit | Beauty

If you came looking for some naked people for this naked edit unfortunately you came to the wrong place BUT if you came to find out about some of Urban Decays best palettes then you definitely have come to the right place. It's no secret that Urban Decay are one of my favourite brands and I love to share their amazing products with you lovelies, and after sharing a pic of my favourite palettes from UD on instagram and it being so popular I thought I'd write a post to go with the picture talking about my favourite palettes. Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to buying the Gwen Stefani Palette yet so that is my next purchase, let me know what is your favourite palette from Urban Decay? P.s. I also know that all of the palettes that are featured are not from their Naked collection but it was a catchy tittle and I thought it fit well.

Urban Decay Naked Edit

So the palettes featured in the picture are:

  • The Naked Smoky
  • Naked 2
  • Vice 4
  • UD Beauty With Edge
  • Naked 3

If you are looking for bright colours you need the Vice 4:
The Vice 4 is full to the brim with pretty shades from bright pink to glittery gold there is something in the palette for everyone, I love this palette as it involves me creating lots of bright and eye catching looks. The Vice 4 is perfect for this time of year as some of the colours are darker and perfect for creating winter looks like the three greens within the palette.

If you are looking for the perfect smoky eye you need The Naked Smoky:
Okay so that's a bit obvious that the palette is used to create smoky looks, but with the variety of brown and black shades within the palette you can create a range of different styled smoky looks and the shimmery shades in the palette mean that you can make the looks a lot less harsh than just using dark shades.

If you are fussy when it comes to shadows you need the Beauty With Edge palette:
The reason you need this palette when it comes to being fussy is the fact that you can pick any shades which you want and create your own palette from dark shades to bright colours whatever shadows you like to wear you can compile your perfect palette from scratch.

If you want all of the pinks you want the Naked 3:
I love the Naked 3 for all of the beautiful pinks which are in the palette and you can create some serious draw dropping looks with the huge variety of colours in the palette. If you are more of a fan of darker shades I am not this palette is for you, but if you love experimenting with the pinks and creating girly looks go for this palette

If you like a mix of shades go for the Naked 2:
Out of all of the palettes I have to admit this is my least reached for palette as it just contains things that others already do, like a range of pinks and browns which is just like two of the other palettes which I already have. If you aren't a fan of bright colours or dark eyes this might be perfect palette for you to dig your claws into!

Sephora Wishlist | Beauty

Sephora Wishlist | Beauty

It feels like such a long time since I've done a wishlist and even longer since I've done a beauty one, today I thought I would bring you a Sephora wishlist. If you don't know who Sephora are they are a primarily based in America but it was launched in France in the 1970s. Sephora have stores around the world it would seem everywhere but England *sobs* I do a yearly order on their website around this time so it's looking like this stuff may get bought at some point, and if it doesn't it can stay on my lust list a little longer. I hope you enjoy this long over due wishlist post and let me know what is on your lust list.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Modern Water Color Palette:
When I saw this, I actually did a double take as it is so similar to a paint palette, and the colours are simply gorgeous and actually look like sweets, I would happily buy this palette as the shades are fun to mess around with and it is only $39 so a bit of a steal in my eyes.

Elsa and Anna Limited Edition Compact Mirror:
How gorgeous is this?! Oh my gosh my heart melted when I saw this pure beauty and although it is expensive for a pocket mirror the design makes it all worth it, and I seriously considering adding this to my basket as it needs to be mine.

Kat Von D Monarch Eyeshadow Palette:
A bit more pricey for an eyeshadow palette but it is a Kat Von D one so it is totally needed right? There is a few of her other products I need to pick up including another Tattoo liner and studded kiss lipstick as they're all insane and should totally come to the UK.

Re(marc)able foundation from Marc Jacobs:
I've heard some seriously amazing things about this foundation and how fabulous it is, and I am always on the lookout for a new foundation the only problem I have with this is being able to pick a colour online for the foundation and for $55 I'd like to get it right.

Sephora Favourites Time To Prime:
The Sephora favourites sets are always amazing value for money often having more than double the value than what you pay for. This set is $25 for $51 dollars worth of primers, it's also the perfect way to trial high end products without going for a full splurge on something you may not like.

Bite beauty lipstick:
I tried a mini version of one of these lipsticks from a Sephora favourites sets back in 2014 and I haven't been able to match the brightness and staying power what I got from Bite Beauty, at $24 I totally need some more in my life!

Gifts For The Females In Your Life | Seasonal

Gifts For The Females In Your Life | Seasonal

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will hopefully be aware that I have been doing a series of gift guides over the last few weeks including one for beauty lovers and another for those who have 'everything' and I might have even tackled the males in your life. Now for the females, although beauty is technically a female based gift guide I thought this one would go down well, and I've also had lots of new ideas for this since I made the first one. I have decided to make this gift guide have two parts just because I have so many ideas, I am thinking one for random bits and bobs and then another for perfume as I have lots of recommendations as far as that goes, let me know in the comments if you want a perfume gift guide? Without further ado here comes the first part of my gift guide for the females in your life!

Thomas Sabo Bracelet & Charms:
I find this to be awesome alternative to Pandora, and although I own a Pandora bracelet (which you can read about here) I do find them a lot more pricey, don't get me wrong Thomas Sabo is also a premium brand their charms can be expensive but as far as their bracelets go you can get a great value one for £30 and then get charms as well which is a lot better value for money and you can also choose to get charms from other places not just Thomas Sabo although they do have a huge range of gorgeous charms, including initials and cute things such as bows, hearts and animals. I like the idea of buying someone a customizable bracelet for Christmas as it's a very personal gift and noone else will have thought to buy the same thing.

Magnitone Barefaced:
I am a huge fan of cleansing brushes as I think they just make your face that bit more clean and give it a good old cleanse which you can't do by hand. The reason this has made the gift guide is for those looking for a slightly more expensive present for their loved ones at £85 this illustrated cleansing brush is an awesome and quirky present for those who fancy trying out a cleansing brush.

Soap and Glory The Wheel Deal:
It was only a matter of time before Soap and Glory made this list, and I would honestly recommend any of their gift sets, although this one stood out to me for it's value and the name which is The Wheel Deal, a variety of mini body butters as well as a full sized body polish. Perfect for a pamper for any beauty loving person along with a mini gift for any secret Santas, as it's perfect for breaking up and making mini hampers with.

EcoTools Starter Set:
Make up brushes are a perfect gift for any beauty lover, I bought my sister a set for her birthday and that went down amazingly so I have now put this on my list for future gift buying occasions for those beauty lovers in your life. I love EcoTools because they are long lasting, budget friendly and also look really pretty!

Esthechoc:
A bit of a strange gift for my last item, and that item is Esthechoc. For those wondering what it is, I'll explain, it's basically a chocolate which is great for your skin (bet you never thought you'd hear that?) as it is filled with antioxidants and the ingredients within the chocolate are known to give you clear healthy skin. Something everyone wants to hear, chocolate which makes your skin good too?!

Look Good Feel Better Review | Beauty

Look Good Feel Better Review | Beauty

I was recently sent these Look Good Feel Better brushes and beauty blender from the lovely people at Beauty Expert and was super excited, not only are these brushes supposed to be amazing, they also support the charity Look Good Feel Better who supporting women dealing with the visible side effects of cancer. The brushes are super soft for sensitive skin as well as cruelty free, all of the brushes are clearly named with what they do so they are easy to identify.

I have wanted to try out a beauty blender for ages so this came at the perfect time, from previous experience I have found that some beauty blenders can be poor quality and not actually do the job they are supposed to do properly, but I haven't found this is the case with this one at all. I love it for blending my concealer, especially places such as under my eyes, my nose and pesky spots elsewhere and they are lot better covered than when I use a brush or my finger, it is also sticks to the word of the packaging and is SUPER soft and amazing for sensitive skin.

As far as the brushes go I am super happy with this mini masterclass set as I feel it includes all of the main brushes that you may need when applying make-up and I am in need of a new foundation brush as my other is falling apart so this is also good timing! The first thing I had to test about these brushes are the softness guarantee and once again I wasn't disappointed, they feel very soft. In the set there is a foundation brush, a powder/blusher brush and also an eyeshadow brush. I think these brushes are perfect for travelling or an on the go makeup bag, but I am assuming the full sized brushes are amazing also and well worth investing if you are looking for a new set of brushes/ a soft set of brushes. I like the packaging of these brushes as they look expensive and high quality. My favourite brush is the powder brush as it feels like a dream when applying powder to my face whereas some brushes can be quite rough on the face. I think I will be buying myself a full size of their foundation brush as I think it would be perfect for everyday use and give my current one a run for it's money!

Pure Beauty Skin Wishlist | Beauty

Pure Beauty Skin Wishlist | Beauty

Some of you may be aware I've recently branched out into skincare a lot more and taking a lot better care of my skin after I keep suffering with bad acne. I took the time to read up on different products which may help improve my skin as well as make me feel better in myself. I decided today I would bring you a wishlist of my top 3 skin care wants from Pure Beauty, if you haven't heard of Pure Beauty you can view their site here and they sell all things Dermologica, from face cleansers to eye treatments. I think people forget how important skin care really is, and I am definitely guilty of this.

Daytime Acne Treatment:
Despite not being a teenager myself, from what the product offers I think it is the perfect product to keep my acne at bay. It is a simple application in the form of a moisturiser and it helps to keep the clean and ready to fight against acne.

Clay Cleanser:
Since recently visiting The Body Shop and being told about a body clay, I am determined to try one for my face, due to how soft and in good condition it left my body. I think clay is great as it pulls all of the bad stuff out of your skin in the form of a cleanser and then you are able to give your face a deeper clean leaving you feeling a lot fresher and nicer. It's also perfect for removing all of the excess oil from your skin which I definitely need help with.

Exfoliating Body Scrub:
I am all about exfoliating my face, but it's not something I have to admit I have done to my body much, which I should start doing more as it's key to get rid of dead skin and leave your skin in a better condition, it leaves you skin feeling a lot clear and removes all of the nasty things which lay on the surface of your skin.

Spring Fix Beauty Event!

Spring Fix Beauty Event!

A couple of weeks back I was invited to attend a Spring Fix Beauty event in the Birmingham Bullring, originally I was interested to know what this was about, I actually like Spring Cleaning because I have SO much stuff I definitely do NOT need so I was ready for this! As part of the event they were offering makeovers free of charge and they were also holding a Beauty Amnesty where if you gave up 5 pieces of old make-up you would get a £10 voucher for anywhere in the Bullring (Boots or Superdrug anyone?) which I think is fabulous! So I happily gave up some of my old lipsticks and a foundation! When I arrived I had my hair styled by an amazing Umberto Giannini stylist Called Rikki. I usually wear my hair straight or up, I don't remember the last time that I actually had it curled, I wasn't sure I would like it but it turns out I loved it and would definitely wear my hair like this again!

After looking around and watching others get their make-up done I was presented with a voucher to spend in the Bullring in regards for attending and reviewing the day, at first I decided the sensible thing would be to buy some clothes, because I currently need some due to loosing weight and after a while of looking at clothes I didn't actually see anything that I fancied. So instead, I did what a beauty blogger does best and headed for Selfridges, and you've probably already guessed what I bought.. 3 MAC lipsticks. Que an eye roll from my boyfriend, but I decided I wanted them and I hardly have any reds/lighter shades in MAC lipsticks as I usually go for BRIGHT colours. I originally considered Morange but they had sold out *boo* I kept £15 of the voucher for when they get it back in stock because I thought it would be a perfect addiction to my collection.

I had a really fabulous time at the Spring Fix Beauty Event, and it's a great way to get people involved in Spring cleaning!

Check out my review of Chatterbox if you love MAC lipstick!

Review| Beauty Naturals.

If you haven't heard of Beauty Naturals, you are seriously missing out! Beauty Naturals are an amazing online store which supply lots of organic and natural products. Selling lots of beauty and cosmetic products for low prices. I recently got sent a bundle of their make-up and fell in love. I received some of their herbal range, which includes their matte blush, curls rule mascara, tinted lip balm and lip liner! Their Matte blushes are amazing I often find they can bit a hit or miss and sometimes make me look a clown but this colour is so perfect for me and blends really well, I fell in love with their curls rule mascara after my first attempt of using it, I often struggle with mascara which doesn't have a curved brush but I felt this Mascara gave me the same feel as any other with a curved brush giving me big bold lashes. Now on to the their tinted lip balms, I was amazed after visiting their site how many gorgeous and bold colours there is, I will definitely be placing an order in the near future (even more so due to the free delivery!) and finally their lip liners to be honest I don't really wear lip liners, but I have given it to my mum who loves and says it goes in really well and is a lovely colour so thumbs up there! Overall I think Beauty Naturals have some very good products which are as good as any others that I've tried and that their prices are amazing.

Gift guide for all beauty lovers

Gift guide for all beauty lovers

Beauty Gift Guide 2017:
For once in my life I am actually prepared around Christmas, I have the majority of my presents sorted, the trees are up (and have been for some time now) and I am in the festive spirit full swing. If you read Dungarees & Donuts a lot, you'll be aware I am a huge fan of creating gift guides, it gives a platform to show off your favourite items and also give others inspiration too. Hopefully, you enjoy this gift guide and let me know in the comments what your favourite beauty gifts are.

Drape and Colour Makeup Brushes £21.00:
Real Techniques have really gone all out this year with their holiday gift sets, there are so many to chose from. The drape and colour set contains 4 brushes, as well as a beauty blender and a mirror. The first thing that drew me to this collection was the colour of the brushes, and how cheap it was for what you get! The brushes included in the set are a multitask brush used for bronzing and highlighting, I use mine to set my powder also. Multitask cheek brush for creating that flawless edge, and the real techniques website advises this can be used for "an extreme tapered cut can be used to drape blush onto apples of cheeks, around the hairline, and down jawline". A lip blur brush, I have to admit before this set I had not heard of this brush, I have learnt it is great for creating a soft lip look and great for blending out the colour of your lips. Finally the lip brush, this is so perfect for creating any lip look, the brush is defined and so easy to use, I love to put my Urban Decay lipstick vice on with this as it creates such a lovely look. The mirror is great for having in your handbag for on the go. You can purchase this from the real techniques website

Colour correcting set £16.00:
Can I start off by saying, how lush is this gift set? Another winner from Real Techniques for sure. This set contains four brushes and four blenders, and the way in which this works is it should make colour correcting easier, by having colours for each category and what works best to cover what. You can buy a variety of coloured concealer which matches these brushes. Taken from the Real Techniques site these are what the each of the colours is for:
Cancel sallowness with lavender
Cover + conceal darkness with peach
Neutralise redness with green
Brighten with pink

For those looking to get into colour correcting, this is the perfect set for you.

MAVALA Dancing Queen Mini Nail Trio Gift Set £13.50:
I have always been a huge fan of Mavala, those small pots of nail varnish last so long, and don't end up going weird and runny like some nail varnish, the colours are the perfect glittery shades for your works Christmas party or even just in the run-up to Christmas. Dancing Queen is the colour that appealed to me the most, such a pretty shade. All of the shades are glittery and long-lasting.

Sleek MakeUP essentially Sleek kit £10.00:
This gift set is perfect for keeping in your handbag, with three mini products and a makeup bag to store them in, it's great for on the go. All of the products are light and great for finishing off any look. The eyeshadow palette contains twelve mini shades all in a compact light palette with a mirror built in. The kit also contains a mini mascara and a matte me lip cream. I would give this gift to anyone who is looking for a secret Santa gift if the recipient likes make up obviously haha! There are plenty of other amazing Sleek Gift sets in their collection including my favourite the Rioja red pout and polish kit

Vera Wang Princess:
This perfume is one of the best I've smelt in a long time, along with a beautiful bottle and something I've wanted for a long time. I am awful at describing the scents of perfume, but The Fragrance shop advises Its sexy scent includes a mixture of water lily, apple, mandarin meringue, and golden apricot skin, dark chocolate, amber, musk, and vanilla. It's a lovely girly scent, and the fact that bottle has two rings on it makes it extra special. You can purchase this from Chemist 4 u for £22.99 for 100ml.

Let me know what beauty gifts you'd recommend this Christmas!

6 beauty products you must have!

6 beauty products you must have!

My effort levels during the winter are somewhat lacking when it comes to my beauty routine. My makeup usually ends up all over my face from having a cold, and my hair ends up getting ruined from the random downfalls of rain we have pretty much constantly... Although I do wear makeup throughout the winter, spring and summer are where it is at. With festivals on the horizon and the fun colours making their return, I am in my element. I don't blog about beauty as much as I should, so today I am bringing you my favourite products currently. Hopefully, you enjoy this post and let me know in the comments what products are essential to your beauty routine.

The first product to take the spotlight is the Nivea lip balm in soft rose which is only £2.49 and one of the best lip balms I've ever tried and completely budget friendly too. Working in an office with aircon often dries out my lips, but I find it is easily fixed with this lip balm which leaves your lips feeling soft and it also adds a little tint to your lip. Next up is the Airbrush Away Primer from No7 which comes in at £16.50, a little more on the pricer side as in the past I have only bought cheaper ones but haven't found them to do the job, after having my makeup done in Boots and been shown the difference that the primer can make, I knew I needed to have it in my life. It creates a lightweight base for your foundation to glide over and helps to even out any imperfections. A little goes a long way with this primer, so I believe it's worth the investment. My go-to foundation currently is from IT cosmetics and is the Your Skin But Better CC cream*, I fell in love with this CC cream as soon as I tried it, giving a flawless full coverage, covers up my acne more than other CC creams/foundations I have tried and has SPF 50 within, so great for those summer months and the bottle itself is in a tube with a pump which makes it 100 times easier to get the amount you want and to carry around as its not heavy.

I love whacking out the perfumes during the warmer months, and I have to pre-warn you that I am terrible at describing scents, but my two favourites currently are Candy Sugar Pop* from Prada and Dior Poison Girl Unexpected*, both perfumes according to experts fit under the Oriental scent bracket, which I hadn't actually heard of until I looked into these perfumes. Both fragrances are made up of vanilla base notes and smell divine. Poison girl unexpected has a sweet scent and The Perfume Shop advise the scent is "A radically pop inspiration, a sudden, lightning-fast sensation that sends sparkling shivers down the spine and then rounds off with sugary softness." A must-have scent for 2018. Candy Sugar Pop isn't the usual perfume I would be drawn to, as it's more elegant than my usual 'type' described online as "Delicate notes of Peach and Vanilla mingle with airy Apple and Mahonial and shiny top notes of Vert de Bergamote and Green Citrus, comprising an unexpectedly substantial scent story: a sweet first impression cut with an ironic aside, Prada Candy Sugar Pop leaves the room on a high note." Also a perfume you need to add to your collection in 2018.

The final product I wanted to include in this post has been a firm favourite of mine for a few months now, and I don't imagine it changing. I've had a love-hate battle with dry shampoo for a long time now, growing up Batiste dry shampoo was the one but the relationship ended when I came to the conclusion of how much white residue that it actually leaves behind. After spotting an AD on Insta for Colab I was drawn by the colourful packaging and fell in love with the product on first use, I can feel it actually absorbs the product and makes my hair feel clean for a good 2-3 days and for someone who washes their hair once a day to go that many days, it must be good. Colab has an amazing range of scents and is available from Boots currently at £1.74 (usually £3.49).

What products have you been into lately?
