Office revamp ideas!

These last few months I've gained an interest in creating homeware wishlists and posts and I have a few more exciting ones in the pipeline for you over the next month or so. Today I am bringing you a post which I am sure a fair few bloggers/freelances can relate to. An office redesign post. I spend so many hours in my office, creating content to put on my blog and just doing general work related things. I like to keep my computer and creative stuff separate to my bedroom and I've been lucky enough to move into somewhere where I can have my own office. I've lived in my current house for a year now and my office was my priority when I first moved in, now it is looking a little bit worse for wear so I have decided I am going to give it a little bit of a makeover and decided before I do this I would create a wishlist post to give me some inspiration. Then if you lot are interested I will create a post on the finished office! Let me know your thoughts on this in the comments below.

Alternative products wishlist for July!

Two posts already this week, I am on a roll! A lot you are probably aware I recently started a full time job, which has put my blog on the back burner for the last few months, but since I've started to get more into a routine I am able to bring you more content again! I was looking back at old content and I used to a lot of wishlist styled posts (I even did a wishlist Wednesday for a while!) and they always used to go down really well. I did used to do specific wishlists like Sephora, alternative bags and even a Dungarees & Donuts wishlist! Today I decided I would just bring you a wishlist of things I've seen throughout July (which a few of the items, are definitely being purchased on payday, not even gonna lie to ya!) Hopefully you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed making it.

Killstar Book Of Shadows phone case!
How freakin' amazing is this phone case though? I've been lusting over some pretty much everything on Killstar this month, my current phone case is the I'm already dead one and it gets so many looks but honestly, I enjoy having the most out there phone cases.

A bugs life funko pops!
I recently discovered there are bugs life pop figures, which is a complete throwback and they're pretty damn adorable too. The sad thing is I can't seem to find a UK stockist that has them in stock, so I am not sure if they're available to buy over here yet. But once I find somewhere I can purchase them, they will all be miiiiine.

Lampcommerce lamps
I think it officially makes you an adult when you become excited about buying house things, however, I love all things quirky and quite fun. So when I found out about Lampcommerce and their amazing range of unique lamps, I fell in love. Honestly, guys, these lamps are like pieces of art. I, of course, fell in love with their cuboluce lamps (they look like mini rubix cubes!) as well as their Artemide lights.

Hype Cassy backpack
First things first, I am pretty sure I've never seen a bag by the brand Hype that I don't like, their designs are always original and fun and I have started to resort to using backpacks instead of handbags again, mainly because trying to fit your lunch, 3 drinks and all of your work stuff in the handbags I own, just isn't going to happen. The reason I fell for the Cassy bag is simply the amazing colour and it stands out, which in case you didn't guess from my bright hair. I love!

Ohh Deer Homewares
I am forever on the search for cute homewares, last year in Brighton I bought 10 coasters with funny slogans on just so I could pop them around my house to make me laugh, I love things that make me smile. I am constantly buying new candles and when I saw Ohh Deer, sell adorable fruit shaped ones including a kiwi (featured above) I knew I had to add them to my wishlist.

What's on your wishlist this month?

Creating my dream home!

Happy Thursday all, who's looking forward to the weekend? I would be if I wasn't working *sad times*, I was recently sent an infographic from Thomas Sanderson sharing the importance of colours on your mood and it got me thinking about the lack of colours in my home and how a possible uplift of colour can make a HUGE difference. I live in a rented property so I wouldn't be able to change the walls, but it got me thinking about what my dream house would be like and I thought I'd share the infographic with you guys and also create a bit of a wishlist of what I would have in my dream home. I found the fact that purple has feelings of comfort and relaxation and black having an element of sophistication to it to it, really interesting. I would love to know in the comments what colours you feature mainly in your house.

What I would include in my dream home:

A purple sofa:
Drawing it back to the idea of purple having comfort and a relaxing element to it, I decided I would have a giant purple sofa, not only does it stand out and look amazing, it also has comforting colours and would be an awesome feature to the room. The sofa featured is from Furniture Village.

Red dinner set:
I love the idea of red raising your heart rate and stimulating the nerves making the severity of smell and taste intensify, I've seen some gorgeous red dinner sets from Oldrids as well as some gorgeous red pans from Dunelm.

Cute mugs:
Slightly off the topic of colour, but I feel like adorable mugs will instantly boost your mood, I mean who doesn't want to drink their coffee in the morning out of an adorable cat mug. Cos I know I do! Sass and Belle have a whole section of adorable mugs and if you aren't aware already I love pretty much everything from their website.

A beautiful bathroom:
Part of my dream home would include a beautiful fitted bathroom with a massive bath as I currently don't have one! As well as a shower cubicle with those fancy jets. A girl can dream right?

A modern kitchen table:
My next investment in my house is going to a stand out table, that is super modern, and I have seen some seriously amazing ones from Habitat like the one pictured above, and also from Made. I love the fact that they can be the centre of any room and bring the whole family together.

What would you include in your dream house?

Tips For Travelling On A Budget!

Travel posts, I remember last summer I promised I would bringing tons more travel related content to my blog and then seemed to have lost my blogging mojo for a lot of the end of last year and most of this year. BUT, I am trying to get back into blogging more and travel posts are something I love to write, so here I am with another travel post, finally!

I am a huge fan of tips related posts as you can probably tell from the amount I have done recently. Including tips for festivals, changes to feel better and getting ready for summer holidays. Today I am bringing you tips for travelling on a budget, and as I am currently planning my own trip on a budget to Amsterdam, I thought it would be the perfect time to share my findings with you all.

Look for the best time in the year to go:
If you want a holiday on a budget going during peak season is probably going to cost you so much more. As everyone is looking to go on holiday at that time, the school holidays is when the prices tend to go up as everyone who has children is looking to take them away. If you don't have to consider this, the best times to go are just before and just after this. Thomas Cook has some great tips on the best times of year to go on holiday abroad!

Last minute:
Booking last minute can often make everything so much cheaper too, the way it works is some airlines have flights in which they need to fill last minute so they reduce them to get the seats filled and it works similarly with hotels, if there are rooms which need filling putting on last minute deals entices people in. They also do similar deals during off peak times as hardly anyone is going on holiday. But it works well if you're looking for a great deal.

Often accommodation can be the expensive part of a holiday especially if you've snapped up an amazingly cheap flight. But on my search for a cheap hotel/hostel for Amsterdam I found some great choices on Kayak who offer to help you find cheap accommodation as well as flights. For the UK I've always found Euro Hostel amazing and they are in some great locations in the UK providing cheap hotels in Newcastle, Edinburgh and Liverpool. Sometimes even a Google search of 'cheap accommodation' can help bring back amazing searches. If you're looking for a bit of a unique choice of accommodation Airbnb can offer some amazing choices for this.

Dependant on where you're going flights can be pretty pricey especially if you're booking fairly far in advance. I've found searching around different websites and comparing times of year as well as different airports can make a huge difference. I noticed a massive difference when flying from Birmingham and Manchester, sometimes travelling further afield can make the overall price of your holiday cheaper, even if you have to spend a little bit more getting there.

Plan everything:
My final tip would be to plan everything in advance from all of the places you want to visit whilst you're on holiday, to where you want to eat. Having an itinerary in advance can help you save money and figure out where you want to splurge and where you want to save. If you want to spend a lot of money on fancy meals and nights out, it is about keeping the expenses down in the day or if you're more of a day trip kind of person, can you cook your own evening meals? Planning cheap ways to get to the airport is also a good way to keep the cost down, whether you fancy going on a train, getting a taxi or even getting a bus pass and going on a coach. It's worth adding up the price of all of the options available and then taking the most effective and cheap one.

I hope these tips help, let me know in the comments what your tips for travelling on a budget are!

Easy Ginger Sponge Pudding Recipe!

It's Thursday guys, which means it is almost the weekend woohoo! Today I am bringing you a recipe even I can make (the girl who manages to burn a pasta bake, true story) and all you need is a few simple ingredients most of which you probably have in the house as well as a microwave. The recipe is for a gorgeous ginger sponge pudding, which is a twist on the classic treacle sponge and this recipe was inspired by the video below from Panasonic:

You can follow the video above for a step by step guide on how to make the ginger sponge pudding or check it out via the recipe here on The Ideas Kitchen. The great thing about their website is for the recipes you can change the number of people you want to create a recipe before and it gives you the exact amounts.

Before baking my ginger sponge pudding, I took a quick trip to ASDA and purchased all of the ingredients (which are pictured above) for all of the ingredients the total was around £10 but it depends what you already have in your house to the total cost of the items. Most of the ingredients will keep so you are able to create this on multiple occasions (or stockpile for a later date) as the recipe doesn't actually use that much of what is bought. The recipe is super easy to make and I think it took me around 10 minutes to prepare, 15 minutes cooking time, a couple minutes to cool and then pour on the custard and you're done. The only thing I changed from the recipe was I purchased cream and grated orange on top as I am not a massive custard fan and this is what the recipes suggest serving it with, oops.

Overall I am pretty impressed with how easy these were to create and actually turned out tasting pretty amazing and are a pretty quick and simple dessert to whip up (couldn't resist) if you're having guests over or even just fancy making a quick pudding after your evening meal.

Next, I NEED to try The Ideas Kitchens stuffed peppers as they look delicious.

I hope you enjoyed a little bit of a different post from me today, let me know if you want more food-related posts because I am totally okay with more baking!

What I've Been Lovin' Lately #5

Things I've been lovin' lately is back, I felt like I was doing these a lot when I started doing them as they're so much fun to create, but the last one I did was back in April so it's about time that it made a return, yay. If you don't know the premise of this series of posts, it's literally where I share things I've been lovin' over the last month or so, can be anything from a new TV show to a new type of food I've tried. I hope you enjoy edition 5 of this post and feel free to leave in the comments what you've been lovin' lately.

ColourPop Eyeshadow:
If you don't know about ColourPop where have you been for the last few years, ColourPop is a beauty brand who have high-quality products for cheap prices, they're an American brand but now ship to England. The last time they offered free shipping I treated myself to a bunch of their pressed pigments and the colour in them is insane. I get so many compliments at work on my eye makeup as it is just stand out and they make any eyeshadow look pop, (ha, get it!) My favourite shades are Slave2Pink , Fantasy and Daddy.

Since I've returned to the world of blogging I've been on the lookout for a new blogging companion, in the past I've never really invested in a camera but with so many amazing photographers/blog photos I thought it was time to step up my game. When looking around at Cameras i've found some super awesome Canon ones which I've heard a lot about and once I finally decide on a budget and which camera is right for me, i'll be investing. I would love to know what cameras you guys use for blogging in the comments!

Sass & Belle:
You've probably seen the company Sass & Belle featured on my blog a lot, but I can't help but share their adorable pieces with you once more. They offer so much cute homeware and stationery goodness, my favourite things on their website at the moment are their 'I Can't Adult Today' mug, floral measuring cups and also their cactus salt and pepper shakers *cute alert*

Getting healthier:
Recently I've start to get back into eating better, counting calories as well as going to the gym. I have turned going to the gym something that I find fun as opposed to a chore, I started to research different types of protein bars as well as protein shakes for after going to the gym as well as new healthy food options, and I've been bulking out all of my meals with tons of vegetables to try make it more filling and a lot more healthy.  Next step to go to some of the classes at the gym as they look super fun.

This month at work I've been doing a lot of training including a qualification in customer service, and it's like they say, you never stop learning. I was online looking at different things and came across mediaworks whitepaper where they share information and forecasts on upcoming things, their most current one is about Fashion and how best to work digital marketing in that sector and also talk about the brands they market for. I think it's a great tool for upcoming companies who want to learn how to do their own digital marketing and it is also an amazing read for bloggers also. Speaking of learning, I mentioned in What i've been lovin' lately #4 that I am learning to drive and in two weeks I am doing my test again, yay.

Let me know what you've been lovin' this month!

Beauty Wishlist!

Hi all, how are we doing? I am finally back in the spirits of blogging again and full of ideas and motivation (about time!!) I've been a little bit distant on the blog front this year with lots of big changes in my life, but I am finally happy to be able to say I am ready to be back to blogging with lots of regular posts. I love doing wishlist styled posts and as a creative they are my favourite types of posts to do as I am able to create them on Photoshop, I do many style ones so I've decided to mix it up and do a beauty one as there are SO many amazing new products around at the moment that I can't wait to get my hands on. If you fancy checking out my Sephora wishlist you can do here.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette:
I went to purchase this palette from the Urban Decay site and noticed it was already sold out *sad face* with lots of gorgeous pinks and reds it's the perfect summer to go palette. I hope I'll be able to get my hands on this eventually.

Too Faced Natural Eyeshadow Collection:
I am in love with eyeshadow palettes, permanently. I will forever invest in new ones despite having so many which I've hardly used. This collection has 30 utterly beautiful shades, perfect for creating so many looks, ALL YEAR ROUND.

Kat Von D Shade and Light palette:
I've wanted this palette since I was in the States last year and just have never gotten around to purchase it, now Kat Von D is available from Debenhams, it makes it so much easier to purchase yay.

Christian Louboutin Nail Varnish:
I am currently big into doing my nails, whether that is at the salon or a cute colour at home. I am slowly growing my nail varnish collection as it is the smallest amount of makeup I own. I am not sure if I was drawn to this for the packaging or the name but it looks insane and there is an amazing range of colours.

Dermalogica Skin Care:
As someone who suffers crazy bad with acne skin care is something I will often invest in, Dermalogica offer some amazing choices to combat acne and a load of other skin issues, for acne I want to get my hands on their 'clear skin, break out clearing kit' as it offers a huge range products to help get rid of acne.

Too Faced Glitter Bomb Palette:
You'll be shocked that another eyeshadow palette has made it on to my wishlist (*sarcasm alert*) but when I was trawling through the Too Faced website and I saw this gorgeous glitter filled palette I knew I needed to add it to my wishlist, so many gorgeous shades and perfect for creating 'out there' looks. I am forever completing my looks with glitter shades.

What's on your beauty wishlist?
